Rhuby's Dog Treats

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt or less
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup cooked sweet potato
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup water or stock

Optional Add Ins

  • 1 Tbsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley fresher breath
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup grated carrots
  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cooked protein rinsed

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt and cinnamon plus any other Add Ins.
  • In a separate bowl, mash together the cooked sweet potato with egg and water.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Using your hands or with a handheld of stand mixer with paddle attachment, mix until you have a dough that is not sticky and you can roll out. You can always add more flour or water if needed.
  • Rollout the dough onto floured surface until ¼-inch thick. Use floured cookie cutter or a knife to cut into small shapes. Re-roll all scraps.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes until completely cooked though. These are hard treats, not soft. Cool and store in an airtight container.

NEVER ADD: onions, garlic, chives, grapes, cherries, avocado, mushrooms, tomatoes, chocolate, nuts, xylitol
GLUTEN FREE FUR FAMILY? Use a gluten free flour mix. Start with 1 ½ cups gluten free flour, adding in more as needed. Other gluten free flours you can use are rice, potato, corn, millet, barley, coconut and/or oat flour.
